Since 1963, Malca-Amit has been a brand synonymous with the secure shipping and safe storage of precious valuables from the luxury goods industry, high-net worth individuals and international banks.
A small office in Tel Aviv, Israel is the birth place of the Malca-Amit brand. With a lack of secure shipping services, valuables were simply exported by regular mail at the time. Mr Raphael Amit, along with his wife, Rachel Amit and her sister, Malca Tykocinski, provided typing services for the relevant export papers that were required to accompany the valuables.
The shift of the diamond business to the city of Ramat-Gan, now home to one of the world’s major diamond exchanges, prompted the company to introduce the moving of valuable airfreight shipments.
Diamond shipments by mail would soon become prohibited by the Israeli government, with the number of diamonds that went missing during shipment being a main contributing factor. This marked the establishment of Malca-Amit as a recognised shipping company and the opening of its first overseas office in Hong Kong.
Since then, the brand’s international presence has grown rapidly to meet the surging demand for safe and secure shipping solutions. Today, Malca-Amit offices can be found all over the globe, with a comprehensive network that spans 32 countries across five continents.
Malca-Amit provides an extensive range of services to fulfill every aspect of the business. Aside from its core business of securely shipping diamonds and valuables, Malca-Amit also provides vaulting services, security services, private jets, express couriers and inspection services at many of Malca-Amit’s secure facilities.
Aside from storing prized personal valuables such as jewellery and fine art, there has also been a growing trend of investors who are diversifying their portfolio with assets such as precious metals and stones.
In Singapore, Malca-Amit runs operations at two facilities. A 1,000 square feet, state of the art facility at the Singapore Freeport, a free trade zone, that is capable of storing 700 tonnes of valuables, and another at Changi Airport’s airfreight centre which has a capacity of 200 tonnes.
Introduced as the diamond class of safe depository services, Malca-Amit launched the UltraVault in Singapore, back in 2016 to meet a growing demand in the region.
Located in the heart of the Central Business District, the Malca-Amit UltraVault is within the EFG Bank Building and provides a more convenient alternative to Changi Airport.
A combination of security and convenience, UltraVault provides a comprehensive solution for the safeguarding of precious valuables.
Unlike safe deposit boxes by the banks, UltraVault is an independent entity that is insusceptible to the risk and deficiencies of financial institutions and provides full liability converage for the assets they securely store.
Providing the very best of bespoke service, safe deposit boxes can be customised to suit specific requirements in terms of size. Valuables can be delivered to virtually anywhere in the world in addition to the 24/7 access at their facility.
